Chris's birthplace, 16 Grosvenor Place, off Grosvenor Street, which was operated as a bed-and-breakfast hotel by two of the people in the picture, Mr. Frank V. Langford, Historian of Chester 1930-1970, and his wife Kay- Chris's parents.

The crumbling house and wall in the background have long since disappeared.
