, here is some colourful grafitti decorating the bridge that crosses high over Parkgate Road, looking toward Chester city centre.

This area contains much quality residential property, and the tall building on the right forms part of the campus of Chester College (now Chester University), of which we shall see a little more on the next page...



Here, in a photograph dating from around the same time, is the view from the other side of the bridge showing the A540 Parkgate Road below and the bed of the old railway on the left.

The grounds of Chester College are out of shot on the left hand side and those of the Queen's Junior School on the right.

This shows clearly the surface of the abandoned trackbed before the coming of the Sustrans cycleway and footpath- seen below in June 2002- a vast improvement!
