The Goree Warehouses on the Strand in 1913. Tower Buildings- on the extreme left- still stand but all else in this picture has vanished. A modern, and very busy, road nows runs where these buildings stood. The warehouses themselves, named after a slave market in West Africa, were destroyed by bombing in WW2. |
