Photographs of Chester

The Olde Lamb- popularly known as 'The Dive Bar', Lower Bridge Street, Chester c. 1960
A rather fuzzy photograph of the Dive Bar which disappeared without trace when Chester's Inner Ring Road was built in the 1960s. Is this the landlord standing outside? We are looking south down Lower Bridge Street- the ornate black-and-white building in the background, separated from the Lamb by the narrow Little Cuppin Street, is the now-splendidly restored 17th century Falcon Inn. The site is now the middle of a busy road junction. Visit our Vanished Pubs of Chester pages and also our special illustrated feature Brooksbanks and the Olde Lamb. |
