Louise Rayner's Paintings of Chester
St. Werburgh Street before it was widened: a drawing by Louise Rayner and a couple of old photographs. The classical bank building remains with us today. The building to its right that was removed for the street's widening bears the name "the Queen's S.." Below are the names "Francis & Arthur" Was this an inn? We have no record of it in our Lost Pubs of Chester pages.. |
The street today: much wider and John Douglas's ornate row of shops now fills the right hand side
